There are literally hundreds of great
things to do in and around the Newcastle area, and they don't

1. The Northumbrian Coastline
Whether you like visiting the abundance of historic castles
(Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh or Warkworth Castles), the picturesque
fishing villages (Alnmouth or Seahouses), walking along the
stunning beaches (like Druridge Bay), visiting ancient islands
(like Holy Island), surfing or just flying a kite, the beautiful
Northumbrian coastline has it all. |

2. The Northumbrian Countryside
The only thing you’ll ever need to explore the exquisite
beauty that is Northumberland is some wheels, a full tank of
gas and a pair of shades! Oh, and perhaps a map!
From Alnwick Gardens to Belsay Hall, Cragside House to Hadrian’s
Wall, Kielder Water to The Cheviot Mountains, there really
is an abundance of beauty in Northumberland.

3. Golf
The North East is blessed with some of the idyllic golf courses
around from the pitch n put at Whitley Bay to the internationally
renowned Slaley Golf Course, there’s a course for everyone.

4. Whitley Bay
Apart from the lively bars and restaurants, Whitley Bay has
stunning sandy beaches, The popular Blue Reef Aquarium and St
Mary’s Lighthouse. |

5. Football: St James’ Park
Home to Newcastle United Football Club – the best football

6. The Arts: BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art or
The Biscuit Factory
Housed in a converted four mill on the banks of the Tyne River,
BALTIC is an international centre for contemporary Art. The
Biscuit Factory, on the other hand, houses the largest floor
space of contemporary art for sale in Europe. |

7. Music: The SAGE Music Centre, Tyne Opera House
The Sage Music Centre, just across the Tyne River at Gateshead,
is a pioneering centre for music and musical discovery whilst
the City Hall, Tyne Opera House and The Arena host almost every
other style of music going. |

8. Activity: Life Science Centre, Beamish or Wet ‘n’
Wild
Whether you want to discover more about who you are and where
you came from at the Life Science Centre, our Victorian ancestors
at Beamish Open Air Museum, or enjoy Europe’s largest

something to do for everyone. |
