Bazil Brasserie serve great quality food and is almost opposite The Avalon Hotel. Main courses are £10 to £15 (correct end 2006).
The Himalaya Indian Restaurant is 2 minutes away at 33 Esplanade.
Chengs Chinese Restaurant is again a 2 minute walk from The Avalon at 152 Whitley Road.
